Hello, {{ Fname | reader }}!
Welcome to this Friday’s edition of The 8:01
This week we cover:
India and Britain fuse at the Tandoor Chop House
Shape up with Mesh Pilates
More of us appear to be working in the office
The Beer & Music Festival is sold out!
In Town
Tandoor Chop House, Adelaide Street
Another venue that’s within easy walking distance of Charing Cross. Tandoor Chop House is an excellent venue if you’re looking for slightly different spin on the Indian Restaurant. Tandoor serves up a unique combination of North Indian cooking and the British Chop House. Their menu has a focus on prime cuts of meat, quality naan, and inventive small plates.
Don’t come here expecting to find poppadoms.

Curious about launching your own newsletter? I can highly recommend beehiiv which is a powerful platform built for growth, trusted by some of the world’s top creators. In fact, it’s the very platform that I use to create The 8:01.
At Home
Mesh Movement, The Roost at Chislehurst Rec
If the only movement you did over summer was moving from the lounger to the pool, then some pilates might be in order. Emily’s classes are known for their warmth, encouragement, and genuine care; her approach makes everyone feel welcome, regardless of experience level. MESH offers a friendly schedule of group classes at both the Rec Pavilion and The Old Chapel, along with fun wellness workshops that partner with local brands for a truly holistic experience. Emily’s uplifting spirit has helped countless locals become stronger, more mobile, and more confident. Reformer Pilates will also be coming soon!
The Commute
There definitely seems to be a trend of people working more days in the office. Since the end of the summer holidays, the trains definitely seem a touch busy than before the break. This tally’s with some of the news reports highlighting more companies are enforcing three, if not four days a week in the office.
How often do you work in the office?
Heard on the Platform
We understand that tomorrow’s Beer & Music Festival is entirely sold out. This is of course great news on the one hand, but also a shame as licensing restrictions have limited the number who could attend. However, the Cockpit have said they are planning to make the event even bigger next year.
We’ll drink to that.
