IT’S 8:01 ON FRIDAY MORNING
Hello, {{ Fname | reader }}!
I’ve been over in New York City for work this week, so Chislehurst has felt many miles away at times. Being mid-September, the temperatures are still really warm, and the humidity quite oppressive at times. Despite that, you can tell the mood has shifted from summer to autumn, with pumpkin spiced latte’s firmly on the menu and already the first signs of halloween decorations. Now that I’m back, I will certainly think about autumnal walks through the woods and paying attention to the colour of the leaves. And just maybe see what additional items we can get to dress the front door for halloween.
THIS WEEK AT A GLANCE
We take a look at a small and cozy wine bar on St Swithins Lane. Organised walks through the woods, along with comedy nights at the Churchill to raise money for charity. It also seems like a now food store might be opening on Royal Parade.

Pique’s new X·E Fountain energy drink delivers clean, caffeine-free energy without the jitters, crash, or dehydration. Vitamin B Complex, magnesium, and electrolytes help support steady focus, while crisp cucumber-celery-lime makes every sip ridiculously refreshing.
🏙️ IN THE CITY
St Swithins Wine Shippers
I walk right place this place twice a day on my way from Cannon Street station to the office. In the morning, its obviously entire quiet, but coming back in the evening, you can hear the buzz from everyone sitting on the terrace before you can even see the place. Whilst primarily a wine store, they have a couple of tables inside, but also a great terrace outside, where my colleagues and friends catch up over a cool glass of Albariño. I’d suggest getting there early to snag a seat. https://www.stswithinswineshippers.com/

The days of nearly missing a train because you’ve been messing around with a ticket machine could be coming to an end. To be installed in 2027, Southeastern are putting in over 200 new, state of the art ticket machines for regular tickets and Oyster.
👂 HEARD ON THE PLATFORM
I’ve heard that one of the empty shops on Royal Parade has just been rented out and will see an organic food store move in. Does anyone know more about this? Thinking about what we currently have on that strip, this could be a good addition.
