There are no shortage of options if you’re looking for a burger in the city, but there’s a relatively new entrant to Spitalfields, which is French chain, Junk. This brand specialises in “smash burgers” (squashed flat) and already had locations in Soho and Marylebone. My colleague has announced that this is now his favourite burger, just beating Bleeker which is about 2 minutes walk away across the market. Delicious, but probably not suitable for a first-date if you don’t want burger sauce down your chin.

🏘️ IN CHISLEHURST
Oktoberfest in Chislehurst
If you can’t make it to Munich, you won’t need to go far, as The Cockpit is hosting an Oktoberfest themed weekend at the start of October. So if you fancy a tasty Paulaner and a salty pretzel, head on down.

Zander is Still Running, and his Monday night run club regularly meet outside the Bulls Head, but on October 11th, they are heading out for a 10k run to raise funds for the children’s charity Wooden Spoon and the Pass the Plate Campaign. The campaign will provide donations to breakfast clubs and food banks to make sure children can get enough food to eat so they have energy to play and learn. Donate if you can.

Bromley Toy & Train Fair
KRJ Vintage Toy Fairs will be running their next “buy, sell, swap” in a few weeks. The fair will cover items such as Trains, Scalextric, Figures, Lego, Hot Wheels, and more. Tables cost £25, with entry £5.

Award Winning Elmstead Woods Station Garden Club
No doubt all our readers are familiar with Elmstead Woods station and the gardening club. They do great work, and the platforms always look fantastic, especially compared to most others on the network. The greenery offers just that touch of calmness whilst we wait.
