Hello, {{ Fname | reader }}!
👋 It’s 8:01 on Friday Morning 👋
This week in The 8:01 we're heading into London for a look at Bob Bob Ricard's Leadenhall Street outpost, getting you prepped for a busy May in Chislehurst with the May Queen, a plant sale, and a Dogs for Good charity event, flagging the Southeastern rail disruption this weekend, and sharing news that Chislehurst Rocks is moving to a new venue for 2026.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, hope you enjoy!

It’s been gloriously sunny this week with the temps climbing but we also had some wind didn’t we! Reports of wheely bins and recycling boxes all over the place. We also saw a a car crash right through the windows of Humphriss & Ryde on the High Street and luckily there were no major injuries.

Write docs 4x faster. Without hating every second.
Nobody became a developer to write documentation. But the docs still need to get written — PRDs, README updates, architecture decisions, onboarding guides.
Wispr Flow lets you talk through it instead. Speak naturally about what the code does, how it works, and why you built it that way. Flow formats everything into clean, professional text you can paste into Notion, Confluence, or GitHub.

If you’re after a Fancy Diner In Town…
Bob Bob Ricard, Leadenhall Street
You might be more familiar with this famous restaurants location in Soho, but the “Press for Champagne” button can also be found right in the heart of the City. Located in the “Cheese Grater” on Leadenhall Street, right opposite the Lloyds building, Bob Bob Ricard is a serious restaurant. The interior is quite something to witness and apparently is inspired by the Royal Yacht Britannia, but it also reminded me of the Orient Express.
Definitely a venue to go if you’re trying to impress your guests and your wallet is full.
🏘️ In Chislehurst… 🏘️
Chislehurst May Queen
The latest edition of this tradition even takes place this Saturday on Chislehurst High Street. Going back over 200 years, the Crowning of the May Queen will take place around 15:00.

15:00 - ceremony commences at Chislehurst Common
Plant, Book & Cake Sale
The Elmstead Woods Station Gardening Club are holding a plant, book and cake sale on May 17th at the station and will include a guided walk and even a visit from the Bromley Mayor. This will be a good chance to see the station gardens.
Dogs for Good Charity Event
This Saturday, there will be a charity event at the Bickley Arms for Dogs for Good. With a photo both, paw prints and a raffle there should be lots of fun for you and your pooch.
🚂 The Commute 🚂
If you were planning on heading up to the city this bank holiday weekend, do note that Southeastern have no trains to Charing Cross or Waterloo
👂 Heard on the Platform 👂
It’s been announced that the hugely popular Chislehurst Rocks is moving location for 2026. Long held at Walden Rec, the event will now take place at Flamingo Park which is deemed to have better facilities for this growing event.
