IT’S 8:01 ON FRIDAY MORNING
Hello, {{ Fname | reader }}!
Not to harp on about the weather, but the humidity this week has been brutal, hitting 90% at one point. Walking from Cannon Street to the office has been more like swimming through soup. It’s definitely the time of year when no one knows whether to wear a coat or not. Also on the theme of the time of year, train timetables will be changing soon; more below.
THIS WEEK AT A GLANCE
Cookies worth the detour to Spitalfields, a film night with Sir Ian McKellen (bring your own bottle), Bromley FC Women chasing a record crowd in the FA Cup, a new juice bar on the High Street, and a heads-up before the autumn timetable arrives. Plus, the fireworks need you.

🏙️ IN THE CITY
If you’re after a little sweet treat when in the city, then Tiny Mammoth would be a good choice. Located just alongside Spitalfields Market, they make some of the best cookies you’ll ever find. A box of these regularly makes an appearance at work, and they don’t last 5 minutes. They’re pretty big too, so it’s up to you if you’ll gorge a whole one to yourself or share.
🏘️ IN CHISLEHURST
Film Night
It feels like this might have been a long time coming, but the Chislehurst Society is putting on a film night (again). On screen will be The Christophers, starring Sir Ian McKellen and Michaela Coel. Whilst licensing laws don’t allow for the sale of alcohol, you can bring your own to consume, and popcorn and ice cream will be available to purchase.

WHERE: Old Chapel Hall

Bromley FC Women
Bromley ladies are taking on Reading in the FA Cup on Sunday, and they’d love your support. They already have a couple of hundred tickets sold, but are pushing to break their record from March, which was watched by 1,053.

Naked Greens Comes to the High Street
Moving into 37 High Street, and what was the very popular Joelle’s Cafe, is a new juice bar, Naked Greens. Set up by founder Mike Hall, this new destination puts a focus on healthy food and drinks through smoothies, juices and food bowls. We can’t wait to get in and try the new offering!
🚂 THE COMMUTE
Autumn Timetable
Despite all the technology available today, trains still struggle with leaves on the line. As such, Southern trains are moving to their autumn timetable covering October 11 - December 12. Times don’t typically change too much, but if you’re precise about your arrival time on the platform, do pay attention to adjustments.

Volunteers Needed!
The Chislehurst Society are yet again putting on a local fireworks display and are looking for a number of volunteers to help on the night.
