Did the Stars Align

Seven planets were aligned in the night sky this week, but it was hard to spot them.

Hello, reader!

For most of this week, stargazers have been treated to an event that won’t happen again until 2040. Seven planets, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Venus, Neptune, Mercury, and Saturn will all be in a line across the sky. In theory, it should have been possible to see them, but in Chislehurst the reality was somewhat different. It doesn’t help that there are quite a few hills and valleys in our local area, and as most of the planets were on the horizon when night fell, it made it hard to see them. That said, Venus and Uranus were visible from most places, shining much brighter than anything else in the sky.

But let's face it, being this close to central London, Chislehurst is not the best spot for stargazing at the best of times.

Did you get to see the planets? Would love to see any photos if you did.
