This will be one of the better parts of the year. On Sunday the clocks will go forward which does mean we lose an hour, but the nights will be noticeable lighter. Added to that, is the fact that we have our first bank holiday of the year coming on next week with Good Friday, followed rapidly by Easter Monday. A long weekend for most will see us go travelling, doing DIY, or easter egg hunting. I won’t tell you which one I’ll be doing.

There’s a great Korean right opposite my new office and it’s quickly becoming my go-to place when I need something quick, but still tasty. Bento Bap opened in December 2024, but appears to be well established now with a steady trade each lunch time. There’s a number of great choices but the BBQ Pork bento box with glass noodles is my pick of the menu.

Art on Parade are running a number of arts days over Easter at the Ripley Arts Centre. Events include hot cross bun decoration, easter egg painting and easter pop-up cards. The days are on Mar-30, Apr-01 and Apr-3, from 10:00 to 15:00.

Chislehurst and West Kent CC are running a couple of cricket camps over the holidays which will be a great way to keep your kids entertained. Suitable for boys and girls aged 5-15. The events in the middle east have resulted in a huge rise in the price of oil, which has been quickly reflected at the petrol station. For those of using the car to commute, this increased cost will becoming very obvious on your bank account. If you’re taking the train however, the decision to freeze prices recently is actually a good piece of fortune, and we can’t often say that about our country’s trains.

The Ramblers Rest are looking for darts players. You don’t need to be the next Luke Littler, as they’re looking for players of all skill levels. Ideal if you’ve never played before.
