IT’S 8:01 ON FRIDAY MORNING

Hello, {{ Fname | reader }}!

Autumn is rapidly drawing to a close. There’s been a notable chill in the air in the mornings, and leaves are dropping. But there are already quite a few Halloween decorations going up, which is adding some fun to the area. I’ve already noted a pretty decent setup on Old Hill, which has started things off pretty early. With the clocks going back on Sunday night, this has probably been the last week of commuting home in the daylight. However, it’s only 69 days until the new year!

THIS WEEK AT A GLANCE

This week, I’m propping up the espresso bar at Roslyn Coffee near Liverpool Street, and back home there’s plenty to put in the diary: a free Asian art valuation week at Catherine Southon, a candlelit Christmas concert at the Methodist Church, and a hunt for the best film to show on Friday 13th. Oh, and Chislehurst station is finally getting some accessibility improvements.

🏙️ IN THE CITY

The office coffee isn’t the best, so before I log in for the day, I pretty much always pick up a coffee from one of the latest branches of Roslyn Coffee right next to Liverpool Street. On my route from Cannon Street, I walk past two other branches at The Royal Exchange and Tower 42. The branch at Liverpool Street is very small, and people often end up waiting on the street for their coffee. With zero seats here, it could more accurately be described as an espresso bar rather than a coffee shop.

Glass Skin Goals? Meet Your Morning Upgrade

Glass skin is the fall beauty goal: a complexion that looks smooth, plump and luminous. Pique’s Carrara Marine Collagen makes supporting that glow a delicious part of your morning routine.

After 90 days on Carrara, 83% reported smoother skin, 80% reported plumper skin and 86% reported greater skin satisfaction.

Each serving combines Type I marine collagen to support skin radiance with rare Type II collagen, sourced from wild Hokkaido salmon, to support elasticity. Together, they bring skin support into a daily ritual that feels like a treat.

Two scoops blend into morning matcha for a creamy latte, making consistency easy as fall schedules fill up. A warm cup, a quiet moment and nourishment from within become part of the same routine.

For anyone pursuing that luminous glass-skin look through sweater season, Carrara adds a beauty upgrade to a habit they already love.

🚂 THE COMMUTE

Station Improvements

A little good news for those of us starting our daily commute at Chislehurst station. Southeastern has included the station in its programme of accessibility improvements, with new stair treads planned to make getting around a little easier. Nearby stations are also benefiting, with improved handrails at Lewisham and new accessible seating at Petts Wood. Southeastern is also improving its digital journey-planning tools, making it easier to find step-free routes and arrange passenger assistance. There's no confirmed date for the Chislehurst improvements just yet, but it's encouraging to see our local station included in the investment.

👂 HEARD ON THE PLATFORM

The recent film night held by the Chislehurst Society was a great success, and they already have two more dates in the diary. However, they are looking for help deciding which film to show on Friday 13th. You can have your say by choosing five films. Make your film selections.
