Hello, {{ Fname | reader }}!
👋 It’s 8:01 on Friday Morning! 👋
It's the Easter long weekend in Chislehurst — four days off, lighter evenings, and gardens coming back to life. This week we have a new bakery opening on Bellmont Parade, a Vietnamese coffee spot worth checking out in the City, and some fun Easter activities for the family.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, hope you enjoy!

This is one of the best weekends of the year, the long Easter Weekend with four days off! When I was younger this was a great chance to go out to all hours with the knowledge that work was a distant commitment on Tuesday. These days, the long weekend is more a chance to relax, spend time with family and maybe do some travelling.
What’s also great about the long weekend is that we now have lighter lights since the clocks went forward, and with the gardens coming alive it really does feel like a positive and wholesome time of year.
What ever your up to, I wish you a wonderful Easter.

Your Retirement Savings Need to Outlast You
Most retirement plans underestimate two things: how long your savings need to last, and how quietly inflation erodes them along the way.
The 15-Minutes Retirement Plan helps you close both gaps with practical guidance on longevity risk, purchasing power, and building a financial plan that doesn't run out before you do.

If you’re after Vietnamese Coffee In Town…
Zero to One, Widegate Street
I’m back to the coffee theme this week, but someone suggested Zero to One to me and I went and checked it out one lunchtime. Whilst there are many, many coffee shops in the city, Zero to One is probably the only Vietnamese venue that I know of. They roast their own coffee and their Natural Catimor was excellent as an Americano.

🏘️ In Chislehurst… 🏘️
Willow Tree Bakery Cake Shed, Bellmont Parade
This weekend a new bakery is opening up on Bellmont Parade. Taking a slightly different approach, the “Cake Shed” will operate on an honesty policy. So make sure you only take what you pay for! You’ll be able to pay with cash, or bank transfer.
Kids Eat Free at Giggling Squid
If you’re looking to eat something other than chocolate or roast lamb, then you might want to consider Giggling Squid on the High Street for a family dinner where kids will eat free (two courses) over easter.
Easter at Beck Evans Farm
Beck Evans Farm in Sidcup is running an Easter Bunny event with an Egg Hunt, where if you ind five coloured eggs you can trade them in for a special prize. Could be a fun day.
🚂 The Commute 🚂
Hopefully many of you will be travelling less into the city over the Easter holidays, but it is worth noting that it looks like there won’t be any engineering work and the trains will be running normally.
👂 Heard on the Platform 👂
The shop at the northern end of Royal Parade is now available to rent after a period of extensive renovations. It feels like this corner at the end of School Road as been under a period of change for a while, so it will be great to have a new business move in.
