Firstly, Happy New Year!

It’s another brief edition this week as we’re still taking time to enjoy the seasonal festivities. However, we thought it would be interesting to reflect on how far we’ve come with The 8:01.

We started writing The 8:01 at the end of November 2024, so it's now been going for just over a year. Whilst it started out slowly, we were genuinely pleased to reach over 100 subscribers last week and we hope that we continue to attract new readers.

At its launch, the idea was to provide an upbeat newsletter for those who lived in Chislehurst and commuted into the city for work. Sent out early on Friday morning, it allowed us to focus on what was happening locally over the weekend, but also with a nod to items and venues in the city. Essentially, this is still the goal for The 8:01, although we continue to find the right balance of what works best.

As we move into 2026, we'd love to hear your thoughts on what you want to read more of in the weekly newsletter. Feel free to reply with any comments or ideas that you would like us to consider.
