Hello, {{ Fname | reader }}!
👋 It’s 8:01 on Friday Morning 👋
Summer has truly arrived in Chislehurst this week, and it's been hard to miss! The heat has been relentless — great for garden lounging and al fresco dining, but perhaps a little less welcome on the commute home. The World Cup is well underway, with England's performances giving us plenty to talk about, and there's a great buzz around local events to look forward to. Grab a cold drink and let's get into it!
Thanks for taking the time to read this, hope you enjoy!

We’re well into the World Cup now, and England’s start has been a little so-so. That said, many of us appear to have been drawn to the put to cheer the boys on. Walking past The Bickley Arms on Tuesday revealed this great seen of many supporters packing out the beer garden in the heat of the evening.
Do you prefer to watch the games at home, or do you like going out and to get some atmosphere?
Hair Dye Fixes the Gray. It Doesn't Fix the Roots
Hair dye solves the gray you can see. It doesn't touch the reason it's happening. That's why the roots come back, the color looks painted, and the routine never ends. You're not fixing the problem — you're managing the symptom every few weeks. Particle Anti-Gray Serum works differently. It targets the root cause of graying — restoring your natural pigment gradually, from the inside out. Hair and beard. No dye, no smell, no roots giving it away. Results that look like yours because they are. Five seconds a day. Thirty-day money-back guarantee if you don't see a difference. Over a million men trust Particle. If you’re after a Mediterranean Restaurant In Town…
Brother Marcus, Spitalfields Market
I was out for a work lunch this week with a new team member and we went to Brother Marcus in Spitalfields market. Considering this brand has a few locations around London, I don’t think I’d ever been before. We sat outside on the terrace which seemed like a good idea initla but the in the heat of this week, soon became the wrong choice. Despite that, the food and drinks were very good. We opted for the “Marcus’ Choice” at £49pp which hands the choice of plates over to your waiter. He made some excellent selections with the crispy aubergine skewer being excellent.

🚂 The Commute 🚂
There’s only one word I can describe the commut this week, and that’s ‘obnoxious’. Clearly in the morning, the heat hasn’t been too bad, but coming back in the evening has been hotter than the sun. On Wednesday evening, there was a slight delay at Cannon Street, and rather than just sit and wait, pretty much everyone got off the train and stood waiting on the platform as it was just too hot. If there is air conditioning on the trains, it certainly cannot cope with this extreme weather.
And it’s not just uncomfortable, for certain groups these temperatures must be a serious health risk. I’m not sure if there are regulations related to operating conditions, but I would say a humane level was breached this week.
👂 Heard on the Platform 👂
You might have heard of Dualingo, but did you know there’s an in-person group that meet at the Queen’s Head to learn foreign languages? Language for Fun, has been up and running for over four years. There groups are pretty small, with rarely more than 10 people each week with a focus on Italian and Spanish. If you fancied picking up some language skills before your summer holiday, it could be worth popping in. They meet in the pub Monday-Wedneday.
