Summer trains are quieter
The cast is set
First home games of the season for Glebe and Bromley
I had a train failure this week. With only a few minutes spare, I jumped straight onto the train sitting on Platform 6, assuming it was my train bound for home. It wasn’t. It was, in fact, a slightly delayed Dartford train, meaning I had to get off at Eltham and get the 314 back to Chislehurst.
In Town
Roasting Plant Coffee, London Bridge
If you make your way over the bridge from the train station, Roasting Plant Coffee is a great spot to get caffeinated. They have an unusual way of delivering the beans, which are roasted on site with the JavabotTM

At Home
Wrattens Gift Shop & Cafe, the High Street
I’ll be honest. I didn’t know there was a cafe at the back of Wrattens shop, but it is an excellent place to take a brew, especially if you don’t fancy the big coffee chains.
The Commute
Isn’t the train journey into work that bit better during the holidays, as there are always fewer of us getting the train? If possible, it’s also preferred to get a City Beam, as they have central heating.
Heard on the Platform
The Imperial Players have confirmed the cast for their next performance in November of plays A Dog’s Life and Gentlemen Callers.
