Hello, {{ Fname | reader }}!
👋 It’s 8:01 on Friday Morning 👋
This week we talk about a new Cannon Street coffee stop, some lovely local art at Elmstead Woods, community perks and opportunities in BR7, plus a musing on whether dogs really belong on the commute.
The weekend is nearly here.

If you’re after a Coffee In Town…
Kiss The Hippo, Cannon Street
I don’t know about you, but I’m one of those people that like to get a decent coffee before I get to the office, and with a new office I take a slightly different route and have noticed a branch of Kiss the Hippo on Cannon Street. It’s a fairly small venue, but does have some seating at the back, but for me, I’m in and out once I’ve got my coffee. They serve their own coffee, and the George Street Blend is a lovely cup first thing in the morning.

Our insider recommendations
Elmstead Woods Station Art Display
If you head down to Elmstead Woods Station, you’ll see the latest display of art from Art on Parade. Inspired by the book ‘The Day The Crayons Quit’, the Piccolo class of 4, 5, & 6 year olds have created some lovely work. So when you’re next catching the train, give yourself an extra couple of minutes to enjoy.
Chislehurst Motor Mowers joins the Chislehurst Society
One of the latest companies to join the Chislehurst Society is the Chislehurst Motor Mowers. Paid members of the Society in BR7 can benefit from free collection and delivery which is otherwise £15.
The Car Show is Looking for Food Vendors
Now that the Chislehurst Car Show is confirmed for Sunday 7th June, they are now looking for food vendors to support the event. So please get in touch with them if this is you. (Note: they already have fun fairs, bars and ice cream.)
🚂 The Commute 🚂
Are you able to bring your dog to the office? Our company does allow this, and my colleague is tempted, but has said, that the stress of taking his dog on the train and also the tube at rush hour is just not worth it. Would more dogs on our commute make it calmer and a nice experience? Or should they stay home?
👂 Heard on the Platform 👂
The Scadbury Centre is looking for volunteers to help them out at their facility in Chislehurst. The centre provides horticultural training for adults with learning disabilities and you could help with mentoring members, gardening, site maintenance and many other tasks. You can contact them at [email protected] if you are interested.
